Confusion

Missed Wednesday church and boy did I miss a doozie! Apparently the song leaders that I LOVED were not the Christians they purported to be. I won't go into details but it hurts me very badly to know these things about them and to know that they have no remorse about this. Stuff like this is what makes it difficult to convince people who are on the outside of the church looking in that there are vast rewards of love and friendship just waiting inside.

And that is what frustrates me beyond belief. We are all sinners and fall short of the kingdom of heaven. But to see people who are staples in the church doing these things and NOT EVEN TRYING to do better, it makes me sick to my stomach. How could they betray the trust and love we had in them like this? It even makes me feel like their talent is tarnished. My new favorite song now feels tainted. I am never going to listen to their version and am seriously hoping I can find someone else's version. Why can't people understand that their personal lives affect how people view their talent? And their talent is not bringing glory to God when they act this way? That there is no glory for God when their behavior overshadows their talents?

Sigh. Maybe I am wrong in this view.

Other than that, the weekend was good. I started and finished a small baby blanket in yellow. The Big Game Awards went well. John and Rita were there. Corey and Lindsay couldn't make it. The food was BBQ with peach cobbler for desert. OH MY it was good! A friend of Will's from Crockett had the second biggest nontypical deer in the region. His deer had a curly drop tine—how freaking awesome! I will post a pic when I get the camera back. Will has it and is taking it to the coast tomorrow. There are three adults and three kids going out deep sea fishing tomorrow. His mom is worried even they used to go out at least once a year! I told her that he will be wearing a life vest and John won't let him drown b/c then he would have to work with someone else as his supervisor!!! Plus, I have his life insurance paid up. So I let him go with my blessings. She was not amused.

Yesterday we went to church and shot bows at Robert's in the late evening. Joe was there but Cheryl stayed home. She is getting ready for the Crockett Trade Days that is this weekend. She sews things. Purses. Quivers. Towel sets. Joe said she had one towel set with a deer head embroidered on it and a cam strip on the edge. I just may have to get one of those!!!! A guy who works with Robert was there with his new bow—as in he has been a bow owner/shooter for about a week! It is always great to get new people involved in bowhunting!

All in all, a good weekend with some distressing news.
