I have found a new band and have fallen in instant love with one of their songs. The Zac Brown Band is from Georgia and they are making a name for themselves.
This song echoes in my heart and soul. It reminds me of a slower time. When we had all day BBQ's and everyone showed up. We would spend the day playing 42, checking the pit (a huge honkin' pit in it's own trailer—we once put a whole pig on it!!), and telling tall tales (my family could be a little, um, well, interesting . . . most are a notch up from white trash but there are a few who are just trailer trash with a good dye job). Or everyone going hunting and coming back with one deer (nobody knew who actually shot the thing!!!). Or going to the river in a flat bottom boat to check the lines. Then having a fish fry on the banks of the river. Tall tales and 42 all around!!! I am thinking I may have to take the neighbors up on their offer to take me bowfishing with them in the air boat . . . if for no other reason than to relive the good old days and be in the middle of a fish cleaning party . . .
