The Simple Woman's Daybook

I found this and I am hoping that by writing all this down, I will learn to slow down and be the woman I should be.

For today October 15
Outside My Window . . . At home I can see the Confederate Rose and Mexican Petunias and Lantana that are blooming. At work I can see  the cedar tree that the squirrels gather bark from. It is humid and rainy. An icky day.
I am thinking . . . that I have a million things to do here at work and that many times two at home. I need to do something with all the pears that are still on the tree.
I am thankful for . . . Jess, Mrs. Pat & Mr. Robert, flowers that bloom
From the kitchen . . . made pear preserves a few weeks ago and two of the jars are molding. Not sure why, the seal is good. I need to make a pear cake for my dad.
I am wearing . . . a mom shirt! Taylor played fall ball a few years ago in Lufkin and I had to have a shirt that says Crockett Baseball. The only one I have for him but I have three for Latexo Volleyball—go Jess!!! Ever wonder how a person who has no kids of their own has "mom" shirts? I do and I'm the one with them in my closet!!
I am creating . . . a baby blanket for Ronda (yellow b/c don't know what she's having, using a bushy stitch), a throw for Jamie (in Red Heart Sunshine Print b/c her favorite color is orange!), and a shawl for me (in pink camo of course!!!).
I am going . . . insane! Between crocheting, working, hunting, volleyball games, and my dad, life is BUSY!!
I am reading . . . Moon Music by Faye Kellerman, Get Out of that Pit by Beth Moore, and A Modern Girl's Guide to Bible Study by Jen Hatmaker (yes I read more than one book at a time—doesn't everybody?).
I am hoping . . . to get my two does this weekend before I have to hunt with Taylor in youth season the next weekend.
Around the house . . . the clutter is taking over!
One of my favorite things . . . picture of Jess playing softball
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: balance the checkbooks, pay all the bills, finish up to chapter 42 in references, make a pear cake, make homemade biscuits and gravy for supper one night this week (b/c I am seriously craving some!!)
Here is picture thought I am sharing . . . one of my favorite things, the pic of Jess. I have it on my desk at work and it always makes me smile.

Hi Shannon...thanks for reading my book! In between cooking, working, crocheting, and softball cheerleading, of course. Here's hoping Girl's Guide makes it from you bedside table to your lap this week! Enjoy!

Blessings,
Jen Hatmaker
