The Simple Woman's Daybook

For today November 17

Outside My Window . . .
It is a beautiful day but chilly.

I am thinking . . .
about marriage and the ramifications of it. Today is a heavy thoughts day. Do you believe that punctuality is an inborn trait? Kinda like house cleaning and cooking? I have always believed you either have it together or you don’t. And I have never had it together (you should see the pics from when I was little, total disaster and then some!!!). After 10 years of marriage, you would think a spouse would have learned that and accepted it. He knew all this before we got married but, to this day, it is still something he swears is drives him crazy. Actually, my very presence seems to drive him crazy and not in a good way. Sigh.

I am thankful for . . .
The peace I get when I am talking to Bro. Dennis. He called me yesterday morning just to let me know that he was thinking about me and praying for me and the stuff we talked about a few weeks ago. It motivated me to get my butt in gear and go to church. I was planning on going anyway but, those of you who know me know how all that goes down at my house.

From the kitchen . . .
Will brought home a seasoned pork loin last night and I made mashed potatoes and boiled some corn. It was so stinking good!!! I tried Pace 4 cheese salsa in the potatoes and it was the best cheesy potatoes I have ever made!! This is going to become a new staple in my house!

I am wearing . . .
Black dress slacks, black blouse, blue/black/tan/white jacket, brown dressy flips with a big blue rhinestone on them and blue beads on the straps.

I am creating . . .
a house filled with chaos and tension. Sigh. Seriously, I haven’t finished the granny square baby blanket yet. I have not been working on anything. Two of my fav. authors had new books out in the last few weeks and I found several books by my all time fav. author that I had never read so I have been holing up and reading for the last two weeks.

I am going . . .
to attempt to keep up with the laundry and dishes.

I am reading . . .
Reilly’s Luck—man I miss Louis L’Amour!

Around the house . . .
the dishes and kitchen are clean. Maybe they will stay that way for a while, at least.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
bake a coconut cake (I have all the stuff and have been thinking about one for a while now!!!), catch up on the laundry

Here is picture thought I am sharing . . .

Wood engraving from The National Police Gazette. The caption reads, "A wild western amazon. The noted Belle Starr is arrested on the border of Indian Territory and being released on bail vanishes on horseback."
