FOR TODAY March 2, 2009 . . .
Outside my window . . .
Cold, cold, cold!!! Not a lot of wind, the sun is shining, but it is COLD out there!! It was 26 this morning at my house . . . weather temp. courtesy of Will who is obsessive about telling me how cold it is. As if I can't just open the door to see what I need to wear for the day.
I am thinking . . .
washing and de-stemming greens are a lot of work
I am thankful for . . .
doctors who work on Friday. Did you know that 99.99% of doctors don't work on Friday? UGH!!!
From the kitchen . . .
I washed and de-stemmed a whole bag of turnip greens and a whole bag of mustard greens yesterday. I also made 19 pints of blackberry jelly. Can you say long freaking day?!?!?
I am wearing . . .
blue denim dress and black slip-on shoes
I am creating . . .
more home made jelly. I have a gallon and a half of blackberry juice, 2 1/2 gallons of plum juice, and one gallon of mixed (blackberry and plum that thawed out and ran into the tub I had it in). I will be making a few batches of jelly each day this week until all the juice is gone.
I am going . . .
to see if I can find some more canning supplies, apparently it is a seasonal item and only a few stores stock the stuff year round.
I am reading . . .
The Key-Lock Man by Louis L'Amour, and You're The One That I Haunt by Terri Garey, and White Witch, Black Curse by Kim Harrison
I am hoping . . .
I can get all the jelly made before the juice is icky
I am hearing . . .
silence, it is golden
Around the house...
jelly, clean sink
One of my favorite things...
books, books, books
A few plans for the rest of the week:
more jelly, ever think I am stuck on one thing each week? sigh.
Here is picture thought I am sharing . . . blackberries

Hope you can find enough canning supplies. From what I heard last year, so many people have taken an interest in canning that supplies are hard to find at times. That homemade jelly sounds soooo good!
